Classes - Monday Mornings in 2012

Members can select which classes they wish to attend throughout the year. Each term is run by a different guest tutor who is an experienced artist.
This way you learn different techniques with a range of media, and have exposure to a variety of styles and influences.
Term 1 Tutor: Melanie Brown (replacing Annalise Rees)
Subject: Ode to the Old Masters
January 30, February 6,13, 20, 27, March 5 (6 weeks).
Cost $48 for 6 weeks.
CLASS OUTLINE:In this course you will have the opportunity to create a study of a favourite masterwork. Using charcoal and dry pastel as our media of choice you will make a tonal realist study learning transcription methods and the application of tone and local colour. Bring along a good colour and black and white (tonal) reproduction of your chosen work no less than A4 in size.
MATERIALS LIST:Good quality colour and b&w reproduction of a masterwork A4 size or greater, A4 visual diary/journal. 2B pencil, eraser & sharpener, 1 x A1 CA Grain cartridge (or equivalent), natural charcoal, soft charcoal pencil, assorted dry pastels including black (suitable to the colours of your work of choice), masking tape, drawing board & clips.
